Dr. Stevens received his Bachelor of Medicine from the University of Cape Town in 1985. He also holds Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada as well as a Diploma in Disaster Medicine and a Diploma in HSE (Health & Safety).
Dr. Stevens has practiced clinical medicine for 32 years. Before joining United Family Healthcare, he worked in four hospitals in South Africa as well as two hospitals in Canada as an emergency physician. He also worked since 2011 in clinical emergency medicine in Ireland, as a Senior Registrar, Accident & Emergency Department at three different hospitals.
He served for International SOS for 10 years in multiple global locations with a complex scope. He has also consulted for multinational clients in China, Germany, Switzerland, UAE, UK, South Africa and Denmark as Senior Medical Consultant in Occupational Health and Medical Risk Management.
Dr. Stevens is registered with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. He is also a member of Health Professions Council of SA, Medical Council of Canada and Medical Council of Ireland.
He speaks fluent English.
